I-TRAILERS - Interactive Design & Actionscript

Year: 2010-2011
Client: Mark Woollen & Associates
Role: Interactive Designer/Actionscript
i-Trailers are interactive movie trailers. The user can click on the trailer, generating fact boxes. As well as information about the film, fact boxes contain behind the scenes videos, interactive modules, articles, music information and links. As Interactive Designer, I created the look and feel of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Faster and other i-Trailers. I provided supporting Actionscript in the form of interactive modules, mockups and debugging.
BEANIE BABIES 2.0 - Graphic Design & Game Design

Year: 2008
Client: Ty, Inc.
Role: Graphic Designer/Game Designer
As Game Designer on Pico's River Ride and Fast Times at Beanie U, I created the GUI, background art and level designs. I partnered with a programer to produce the game in Flash. I also worked with animators and illustrators to achieve the final results. As Graphic Designer on games for Ty's Beanie Babies 2.0 virtual world, my duties included creating game splash screens, instructions screens and results screens. I worked closely with programmers to create a standardized game screen template that could be re-used by designers without altering code. Additionally, I did Flash production work for the Beanies site.
POPZILLA - Graphic Design

Year: 2009
Client: MTV
Role: Graphic Designer
Popzilla is a half-hour animated sketch comedy show that skewers celebrities with outrageous skits. As a graphic designer on the show, I prepared still graphics that were part of the scenes, including a macabre storybook where Anne Hathaway becomes a wicked, bloodthirsty queen. I used a combination of Photoshop and 3D modeling to create each graphic.
POPZILLA - Background Design

Year: 2009
Client: MTV
Role: Background Designer
The producers of Popzilla chose a photo-montage look for the backgrounds of the show. To create this odd, sometimes jarring look and feel, I composited several photos together to make each background. I added in textures, patterns and 3D models to achieve the odd sense of reality that the director intended.
BAKUGAN - Game Design

Year: 2009
Client: Spinmaster
Role: Graphic Designer
The Bakugan website provides several casual flash games based on the popular children's animated series. For the Battle Launcher and Puzzle Brawler games, I provided GUI design, background design, level design, game screen design and animated effects. I used a combination of techniques to create graphics for the game, including toon rendering a rolling animated cycle of the bakugan balls in Maya.
BACK AT THE BARNYARD - Game Design

Year: 2009
Client: Nickelodeon
Role: Art Director
In an episode of Nickelodeon's "Back at the Barnyard" cartoon, the characters have to decide what to do on a boring day. They decide to pretend that they are giant monsters in a Godzilla-esque black and white film. Nickelodeon asked our team for a game based on this look and feel. As Art Director on this Flash game, I was responsible for the overall visual design. I met with a team of animators and illustrators and directed the game artwork with style guides and comps. While I created GUI, background and game graphics, I approved animation, sound and illustration from the team. I also worked with a programmer to test the game and build the gameplay.
COPING WITH CHEMO - Website Redesign

Coping With Chemo Website
Year: 2007
Client: Starlight Children's Foundation
Role: Graphic Designer
The Starlight Children's Foundation helps children understand and cope with serious illness. Animax created the "Coping With Chemo" website as a way to help children understand the chemotherapy process. Animators created a series of short animated clips that talk about chemotherapy. In 2007, Starlight decided to update the look and feel of the website. They asked me to give the site a more modern, grunge look that resonated better with their kids. Shortly after the redesign, the site won the 2008 WEBAWARD For Outstanding Achievement in Web Development.
